Why We Do This Work
I built my career in a high-pressure role in fine jewelry packaging and manufacturing that required near-constant travel, client entertainment, and long hours on the road. Over time, that lifestyle took a toll, and I found myself barely functioning while trying to keep up the pace.
In November 2019, I made the decision to get sober. To do that, I had to step off the road and rebuild my life from the ground up. My path to sobriety wasn’t traditional, no AA, no support groups and no recovery coach. I navigated early recovery largely on my own through the pandemic, learning firsthand how difficult it can be to stay sober while still trying to maintain a career and a sense of normalcy.
After earning my Master of Business Administration, I began building my professional career as a Director of Sales, leading a team for a biotech start-up. Wanting to put my Master of Human Resource Management to use, I pivoted into a national home inspection franchise organization as a Training and Operations Manager, supporting more than 250 franchise owners in a fully remote role.
Later, I transitioned into the car wash equipment manufacturing industry as a Training & Development Manager, where I continued to grow into the Director of Business Process.
Throughout these career pivots, one thing remained constant: sobriety became my competitive advantage. The clarity, discipline, and confidence I gained from removing alcohol and drugs allowed me to operate at a higher level professionally and personally.
Today, I am an active participant in the Chicago recovery community and collaborate with people around the world who are pursuing sobriety and building lives they once thought were out of reach.
I created the Sober Professional Club because I couldn’t find a space that spoke to ambitious professionals who wanted more than “just not drinking.” They wanted a better life.
I look forward to creating your next chapter together.
